Download and install
Step 1: Go to National Instruments Multisim Evaluation Version on the Academic Software platform and click on the download button at the right to download the software.
Step 2: Run the .exe installation file by double-clicking it in your downloads folder. The installation program (NI Package Manager) will start.
Step 3: Accept the licence agreement by selecting 'I accept the above 2 license agreements' and click on Next to continue.
Step 4: Now you will get an overview of what will be installed. Click on Next to continue.
Step 5: The installation begins. Click on Next.
Step 6: You will get the following message asking you if you agree that NI Update Service regularly checks for updates. Updates are never installed automatically. You can still choose to install them or ignore them.
Click on Yes if you want NI Update Service to check for updates regularly, otherwise click on No.
Step 7: After installation, you must log in with your NI account. If you don't have an account yet, scroll through to the 'Create Account' section for more info on creating your account.
Step 8: You will end up in the NI Licensing Wizard window. Close this window and search for NI Multisim in the start menu and start the program.
Step 9: You will now see the following Multisim Licensing Wizard screen. Click on Evaluate.
You have 45 days to use the Evaluation version. Then you can extend it by following the steps below.
Step 10: Click on Yes to continue.
Step 11: Your evaluation version has been successfully activated. Now click on Launch to start the NI Multisim Evaluation Version.
Step 12: The software is installed and launches immediately. You can now use the software free of charge for 45 days.
Extend evaluation version
Step 1: Go to NI Multisim Evaluation Version on the Academic Software platform and click on the 'Start procedure' button at the top right.
Step 2: You will be directed to the web page below. Fill in your Computer ID.
You will find the Computer ID in the NI License Manager under General by clicking on Computer Information.
Fill in this code and click on Submit.
Step 3: Please fill in the requested details to confirm the renewal of your evaluation version. You will receive the evaluation code by email.
Step 4: After receiving the evaluation code, enter it in the NI Evaluation Wizard. With this evaluation code you can use NI Multisim for free for another 45 days. Please note that you need to apply for this extension after your first 45-day evaluation period.
Create account
Step 1: If you do not have an account yet, click on 'Create account' to create one.
Step 2: Please fill in the requested data in the form. Use your school email address to create your account! Check that you agree with the privacy statement and click on 'Create Account'.
Step 3: Go to your mailbox and confirm your account by clicking on the confirmation link in the email.
Step 4: You get the following confirmation on your screen: Your NI user account has been confirmed. Click on Continue to proceed. Repeat the 'Download and install' section above at step 7.
