How to install and activate Nvivo

Installing the software

Step 1: Go to the Academic Software page of Nvivo and click on the Request button to request your licence code.

 

Step 2: Click on the downloadbutton on the right to download the software.

 

Step 3: Open the installation file in your download folder.

 

Step 4: Choose a language and click on OK.

 

 

Step 5: Click on Install if you are asked to install the necessary software for Nvivo.

 

 

Step 6: Click on Next.

 

 

Step 7: Accept the licence agreement and click on Next.

 

 

Step 8: Choose whether you want a shortcut on your desktop and click on Next.

 

 

Step 9: Choose whether you want to install the extensions for Chrome and click on Next.

 

 

Step 10: Click on Install to start the installation.

 

 

 

Activating the licence

Step 1: After installation, launch the software.

 

Step 2: At the bottom, click on 'or provide enterprise key to activate'.

 

 

Step 3: Enter the licence code you obtained through Academic Software, accept the licence terms and click on Next.

 

 

Step 4: Fill in the required fields and click on Activate at the bottom right.

 

 

Step 5: If your licence was activated successfully, you will see the following screen. Click on OK.

 

 

Step 6: Enter your name and initials and click on OK.

 

 

The software will now launch and is ready to use.
