How to install Pythagoras 16 and activate the licence

Installing Pythagoras

 

Step 1: Go to the Academic Software page of Pythagoras and click on the download button on the right.

 

Step 2: Open the installer in your download folder.

 

Step 3: Follow the steps to complete the installation.


Please note that some anti-virus programs (Bullguard, Avast, Norton...) may prevent Pythagoras and/or the drivers from being installed correctly. Please disable them before installing Pythagoras!

 

Step 4: Using a browser (Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome), go to http://localhost:1947. If this works, Pythagoras and the driver have been installed correctly. If this does not work, you will need to redo the installation.

 

 

Activating the licence

 

NOTE: The first time you install Pythagoras, you need to take into account that Pythagoras will first start up in the trial version. After the trial period has ended, Pythagoras will automatically switch to the 400 day student license.

 

Step 1: Go back to Academic Software and click on the Request button at the top right to request your licence. 

 

Step 2: Launch Pythagoras 16.

  • Has your trial licence expired?
    • Copy and paste the product code you just requested

    • Click on Install and Close
    • You receive one of the following messages:

      OR

      Licentie_3_na_update_installeren_EN.PNG

    • Click on Close
    • Restart Pythagoras
      • To check until when your licence is active:
        • Go to Help, About Pythagoras, License info
        • Under the tab License info next to Type you can see the expiration date

Please note if you get the following message.

A licence key can only be activated once. If you receive this error, please contact our helpdesk. They can provide you with a new key.

 

  • Is your trial licence still active?
    • Go to Help, About Pythagoras, License info

    • Go to the 'Install new key' tab
    • Copy and paste the product code you just requested

    • Click on Install and Close
    • You receive one of the following messages:

      OR

      Licentie_3_na_update_installeren_EN.PNG

    • Click on Close
    • Restart Pythagoras
    • Activation succeeded, but Pythagoras will still start in trial mode 

NOTE: Since the trial version is still active, the trial period will continue first. After the trial period has ended, Pythagoras will automatically switch to the 400 day student license. This situation only occurs when you install Pythagoras for the very first time.
