How to install Autodesk Revit 2025

 

Before installing Autodesk software, it is important to have an Autodesk student account.

  • If you already have an account, you can log in and download the software.
  • Don't have an account yet? Then first create your account following the steps below.

Create your Autodesk account

 

Step 1: Go to the Autodesk Revit page on the Academic Software platform. 

 

Step 2: Click on the 'Start procedure' button to apply for your Autodesk Education account.

 

Step 3: Click on 'Sign in'.

Step 4: Click on 'Create account'.

Step 5: Fill in the requested details and click on 'Create account'.

Step 6: Click on ‘Verify email’ in the email you will receive to confirm your account.

Step 7: Click on 'Done' to complete the verification process.

Step 8: In the 'All products' overview, select 'Revit' and click on 'Select'.

Step 9: Next, apply for your access to Autodesk's education products.

Step 10: Select the appropriate role under ‘Educational Role’. Choose from ‘Student’, ‘Educator’ or ‘School IT Administrator’.

As a ‘Student’, you will then be asked to enter your date of birth under ‘Date of birth’.

Step 11: Fill in the requested information at ‘Add school information’. Check these again before clicking on ‘Continue’ as you cannot change the entered information later.

 

At ‘Institution Type’:

  • as a secondary or high school student, click on 'High School/Secondary';
  • as a university or college student, click on 'University/Post-Secondary'.

 

If you do not find your educational institution under ‘Name of educational institution’, submit a request to have it added via the link that appears.

Step 12: In the fourth step, you will be asked to upload a copy of your valid registration certificate or student card. Before clicking ‘Continue’, check that this document contains the following:

  • Your full name;
  • The full name of the educational institution where you are enrolled;
  • A start and end date.

Attention: If the items above are not mentioned on this document, Autodesk will reject your application. In addition, please note that Autodesk will allow a total of three attempts to submit this.

Step 13: After uploading the requested document and completing the application process by clicking on ‘Submit’, you will receive an email within 20 minutes to confirm the status of your application.

Login at Autodesk

 

Step 1: Go to the Autodesk Revit page on the Academic Software platform.

 

Step 2: Select a language.

 

Step 3: Click on the ‘Download Autodesk Revit’ button.

 

Step 4: Click on ‘Sign in’ to log in.

Step 5: Log in with your Autodesk account, click on 'Next' and then on Sign in'.

Install Autodesk Revit 

 

Step 1: Once logged into Autodesk, click on your account icon in the top right corner.

Step 2: Under 'Account' click on 'Products and services'.

Step 3: Select the correct version, suitable operating system and preferred language for the Revit installation file, and click on ‘Install'.

Step 4: Click on ‘Accept’ to accept the terms of use and privacy statement.

Step 5: Click on the .exe file in your Downloads folder.

If you are prompted to:

  • make changes to your computer, click ‘Yes’.
  • install any extras, ask your teacher if you need to install them and indicate them if necessary. Then click on ‘Install’.

 

Step 6: Click on 'Next'.

Step 7: Choose the installation folder where the software will be installed and click ‘Install’.

The duration of the installation depends on the speed of your computer.

Step 8: After installation, click ‘Restart’ to complete the installation by restarting your computer.

Step 9: Launch the software by clicking the shortcut on your desktop.

Step 10: Click on ‘Sign in’. Sign in with your Autodesk account by entering your email address and password.

Step 11: Are you (already) logged in? Than you can now get started with Autodesk Revit.

 
 

Important!

 

  • If you have problems installing the software, please uninstall all older versions of Autodesk and reinstall the software. Here you will find instructions on how to remove all Autodesk software from your PC.
  • If you receive an error message regarding the Licence Manager, you can follow these steps.
