Installing TopSolid'Wood
Step 1: Go to Academic Software's TopSolid'Wood page.
Step 2: Select a language.
Step 3: Click the ‘Download TopSolid'Wood’ button to start the download.
Step 4: Extract the zip file into your Downloads folder.
Step 5: Open the folder and installation file ‘TopSolid.Downloader.exe’.
Step 6: Click on the ‘Download’ button.
The installation file will download the necessary data, which will take some time.
The installation will start automatically.
Step 7: Choose the components you want to install: TopSolid'Design, TopSolid'Wood and TopSolid'Wood Cam.
Step 8: Only change the settings for ‘Configuration folder’ and ‘Group folder’ at the bottom.
The downloads ‘Group_TSB’ and ‘Config_TSB’ can be found on Academic Software's TopSolid'Wood page. These are configuration files and libraries provided by the vendor, so you can get started with some sample files. Unpack these files in the C:\Missler folder and add them during installation by clicking ‘Browse’.
Step 9: Click on ‘Install’.
Step 10: Accept the licence agreement by clicking ‘Accept’.
Step 11: Click ‘Install’ and wait patiently while TopSolid'Wood is installed.
Note: If you are prompted to install .NET Framework 3.5 (including .NET 2.0 and 3.0), click ‘Download and install’. The software required to use TopSolid'Wood will then be installed. Then the installation of TopSolid'Wood continues automatically.
Step 12: After the installation is complete, click ‘Close’.
Step 13: You will then be asked if you want to clear the application's download folder. Click ‘Yes’.
Step 14: Restart your computer.
Activate your licence
Step 1: Go back to the TopSolid'Wood page on Academic Software and click the ‘Request access’ button so that your IP address is whitelisted.
Step 2: Right-click on the TopSolid icon on your desktop and click ‘Properties’ at the bottom of the list.
Step 3: Adjust the ‘Target’ field to the one below:
C:\Missler\V625\bin\top625.exe -fTOPSOLID/217/6.25
Step 4: Click on ‘Apply’.
Step 5: Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab in the ‘Properties’ window.
Step 6: At the bottom of the window, check the ‘Run this program as an administrator’ box.
Step 7: Click on ‘Apply’ and then ‘OK’.
Step 8: Launch TopSolid by double-clicking on the icon on your desktop.
Step 9: Click on ‘Yes’ when prompted for additional permissions to make changes. You always get this message when you start the programme.
Click on ‘OK’ when you get an error message.
Step 10: Under ‘Netwerk server’, enter the IP address found on Academic Software's TopSolid'Wood page and click on ‘Submit’.
You will be prompted to restart the programme.
The window will close and the programme will exit.
Step 11: Double-click on the TopSolid desktop icon to launch the software, check that the IP address is still filled in and click on ‘OK’.
Step 12: You can now use TopSolid'Wood.
