Step 1: Go to the Academic Software page of Thunderbird and click on the button to download the software.
Step 2: Open the installation file in your downloads folder.
Step 3: User account management will ask you to make changes to your device. Click on Yes.
Step 4: The installation starts. Click on Next.
Step 5: Tick Standard and then click Next.
Step 6: Choose where you want to install the program on your PC. Then click on Install.
Step 7: Follow the steps to complete the installation.
Step 8: The installation is complete. Choose whether you want to start Thunderbird immediately or not. Click Finish.
Step 9: Open Thunderbird on your PC if this has not already happened.
Step 10:
- Once you have opened Thunderbird, you will be asked to configure your email. Enter your details and password
- If you don't want to enter your password every time, you can also indicate that your password can be saved by checking the 'Remember password' box
- Then click on Continue
Step 11: Your email is configured and you can get started. Click on Done.
Step 12: Finally, choose how you want to use Thunderbird by ticking the appropriate box.
Step 13: Your email has been synchronised and you can get started with Thunderbird.
