How to install and configure Ardis Optimizer

Note: to install and use Ardis Optimizer, you need to connect to the HOGENT network via VPN, which requires FortiClient. Haven't installed the program yet? Then go to the HOGENT VPN page and install it first. Activate your connection when prompted.

 

 

Installing Ardis

 

Step 1: Go to the Academic Software page of Ardis Optimizer and click on the download button on the right to download the necessary installer files.

 

Step 2: Unpack the ZIP file in your download folder. This folder contains 2 separate files.

 

Step 3: First run the file 21.04.09.exe. 

 

Step 4: Click on Next.

 

 

Step 5: Accept the licence agreement and click on Next.

 

 

Step 6: Do not change the installation location and click on Next.

 

 

Step 7: Click on Install to start the installation. If necessary, assign additional rights.

 

 

Step 8: You will be asked to install Codemeter. Click on Next.

 

 

Step 9: Accept the licence agreement and click on Next.

 

 

Step 10: Fill in your details and click on Next.

 

 

Step 11: Click on Next.

 

 

Step 12: Click on Install to start the installation.

 

 

Step 13: After the installation, click on Finish. Now you will be asked to install Ardis CAM Center.

 

 

Step 14: Click on Next.

 

 

Step 15: Accept the licence agreement and click on Next.

 

 

Step 16: Do not change the installation location and click on Next.

 

 

Step 17: Click on Install to start the installation. If necessary, assign additional rights.

 

 

Step 18: After the installation, click on Finish.

 

 

Step 19: Click on Finish again to complete the installation.

 

 

 

Activating your licence

 

Step 1: Once the software is installed, copy the file '4365.ALX' from the ZIP to 'C:\Ardis'. If you get the message that the file already exists, replace the old file with the new one.

 

 

Step 2: To activate your license, establish your VPN connection with the HOGENT network now.
Run FortiClient and sign in using your HOGENT login details.

 

Step 3: Run Ardis Optimizer once your VPN connection has been activated. Select your preferred language. Next, click on Yes when you get a license-related warning.

 

 

Step 4: Click on the yellow key with the red cross. This indicates that you don't have an activated key.

 

 

Step 5: Now check the box next to 'WIBU Codemeter' in the top right, fill in the IP address 172.17.0.4 next to 'On another computer' and click on OK.

 

 

Step 6: Ardis Optimizer is now installed and ready to use.

Make sure to turn on your VPN connection when you want to use the programme.
