Note: to install and use Ardis Optimizer, you need to connect to the HOGENT network via VPN, which requires FortiClient. If you don't have FortiClient installed, you can download it by choosing 'FortiClient VNP' under 'Select version', at the top right of the Academic Software page for Ardis Optimizer. Activate your connection when prompted below.
Step 1: Click the green download button on the right of the Academic Software page for Ardis Optimizer to download the necessary installer files.
Step 2: Unpack the ZIP file in your Downloads folder, this file contains 3 separate files.
Step 3: Run the file 20.05.06.msi first. This is the installer file for Ardis Optimizer. Follow the instructions and install the programme with the default settings.
Step 4: After installing Ardis Optimizer, you need to install CodeMeter Runtime. Run the file CodeMeterRuntime.exe from your unpacked folder, and follow the instructions to install this with default settings.
Step 5: Once both programmes are installed, you have to move the third file from the ZIP archive, 4365.ALX, to the Ardis Optimizer installation folder, which is C:\ARDIS by default.
Step 6: To activate your license, establish your VPN connection with the HOGENT network now.
Run FortiClient and sign in using your HOGENT login details.
Step 7: Run Ardis Optimizer once your VPN connection has been activated. Select your preferred language. Next, click Yes when you get a license-related warning.
Step 8: You can activate your license key on the next window. Click the icon of the yellow key with the red cross. This indicates that you don't have an activated key.
Step 9: Now check the box for 'WIBU Codemeter' in the top right, fill in the IP address 172.17.0.4 next to 'On another computer', and click OK.
Step 10: Ardis Optimizer is now installed and ready to use. Make sure to turn on your VPN connection when you want to use the programme.
