How to install EPLAN Education Package (add-ons)

WARNING: The Education Package can only be used if the Education licence is activated. So please make sure that you download EPLAN Education first and then activate the licence. 

Download EPLAN Education Package

Step 1: Go to EPLAN Education on Academic Software and select the desired Education Package under 'Select version'.

Click on the 'Download Education Package' button.

Step 2: Extract the ZIP file on your C drive.

Upload the EPLAN Education Package in EPLAN Education

Make sure you have already installed EPLAN and have an active licence!

Step 1: Launch EPLAN Education. You get the following message. Check the Expert box and click on OK. If you do not want to be repeatedly asked this, check the option 'Do not show this dialog again'.

EPLAN is being launched. This may take a while.

Step 2: You will see the following window to participate in the customer-focused improvement program. Please indicate your preference and click on Close.

Step 3: Go to Options and click on Settings or go directly to the Settings icon in the taskbar.

Step 4: Then go to Company > Management > Add-ons and click on [...]. Then click on the folder of the extracted files. Then click on Apply and finally on OK.

You will then see the path for the automatic registration of the add-ons. Click on OK.

Step 5: Close EPLAN and go to your C-drive > EPLAN EDUCATION PACKAGE V.x > BIN.

Right-click on the file 'EPlan.EplAddin.EduGen.dll' and then on Properties.

In the first tab (General), go to 'Unblock' at the bottom and check this. Then click on Apply and then on OK.

Step 6: Reboot EPLAN. The window 'Master data synchronization' will open. Click Yes to synchronize the data.

Step 7: Click on Yes to back up your system master data.

If you accidentally did not click Yes, you can still perform this step later via Utilities > Master data > Synchronize system master data.

Stap 8: Click on Yes to save the system master data.

Step 9: Choose 'EPLAN EDUCATION PACKAGE V...' as source.

Step 10: Select all data and then click on the arrow 'Move to the left'. Then click on Close.

Importing the parts and settings

Step 1: Import the parts via Utilities >Parts > Management.

Step 2: You will see the following window. Click on Extras at the bottom and then on Import.

Step 3: Choose XML as file type.

Step 4: Via [...] select the file 'EDU_PART.xml' located in the folder C:-Setup_V... - Package/Package/Parts. Click on OK to import the parts.

Step 5: Import the image via View > Workspace > Import. Make sure that the Scheme is set to Default. 

Step 6: Here, go to your C drive > EPLAN EDUCATION V ... > Schemes > and select the three .xml files 'WS.EDU_Residential_Wiring_Situation.xml', 'WS.Industrial.xml' and 'WS.EDU_Residential_Situation.xml'. Then open these files by clicking on Open.

Step 7: Now you can choose a workspace, such as Residential_Situation, Industrial and Residential_Wiring_Situation. Then click on OK.

Step 8: You can get started with the EPLAN Education Package.
