How to install Unreal Engine

Note: you need more than 10 GB to install the software.

 

Creating an account

 

You need an Epic Games account to download Unreal Engine.

 

Step 1: Go to the Unreal Engine page on Academic Software and click on the 'Start procedure' button to create an Epic Games account if you don't already have one.

 

Step 2: Click on 'Sign up with email'.

 

 

Step 3: Fill in your details, accept the terms and click on Continue.

 

 

Step 4: You will receive a confirmation code via email. Enter this code and click on 'Verify email'.

 

 

You are now logged in.

 

 

Downloading the software

 

Step 1: Go back to Academic Software and click on the download button on the right to download Unreal Engine.

 

Step 2: Open the installation file in your download folder.

 

Step 3: Click on Install.

 

 

Step 4: Click on 'Sign in with Epic Games'.

 

 

Step 5: Log in with the account you have just created.

 

 

Step 6: Click on 'Install Engine' to install Unreal Engine.

 

 

Step 7: Check the box and click Accept to accept the Licence Agreement.

 

 

Step 8: Click on Install to start the installation. This may take some time.

 

 

Step 9: Once the installation is complete, click on Launch.

 

 

Unreal Engine is now installed and ready to use.
