Step 1: Go to the Academic Software page of Mendeley Desktop and click on the button ‘Download Mendeley Desktop' to download the installer.
Step 2: Open the .exe installer file from your downloads folder and click Next to start the installation.
Step 3: Click 'I Agree' to accept license agreement.
Step 4: Click Next to install the software in the standard location. You can also choose to change the destination folder.
Step 5: Click Install to start the installation and add a folder to your Start menu.
Step 6: Once the installation is complete, check the box to run the program and click Finish.
Step 7: You can log in here if you already have a Mendeley account. If not, click Register in the bottom left.
Step 8: Create an account with your e-mail address, or click 'You can also sign in via your institution...' to log in with your school information.
Step 9: Search for your institution. Mendeley supports most universities and colleges.
Step 10: Open the program and log in with your (new) account information.
You will get the option to import existing documents or libraries before you start.
Mendeley Desktop is now installed and ready to use.
