How to install and activate EPLAN Education (2023 or later)

Tip: Not all heroes wear capes—some just follow the right steps. Whether you're creating an EPLAN ID, already have one, or renewing your licence, pick your path and you’ll be off to a clean start.

Grab your licence

Choose the option that matches your situation:

I don't have an EPLAN ID yet: Create your EPLAN ID and activate your licence.

I already have an EPLAN ID, but no licence: Sign in and request your licence.

I want to renew my EPLAN licence: Extend your existing licence.

⚙️ Time to install

Step 1: Visit the EPLAN page on Academic Software.

Step 2: Select your preferred software version (2023 or later) and language.

Step 3: Click the Download button to get the installation file.

Heads-up! EPLAN’s a bit picky. It only works on Windows. Mac users, you’ll have to sit this one out or get creative with a virtual machine.

Step 4: Extract the downloaded ZIP folder located in your Downloads folder.

Step 5: Run the EPLAN Setup Manager as an administrator by right-clicking on the .exe file and selecting Run as administrator.

Step 6: Select Default as installation type and click Next.

Step 7: Fill out the "Company name" field using the name of your educational institution, select the appropriate unit of measurement and click Install.

Step 8: Ensure that all the programme features are selected, then let the installer do the rest. A brief pause, and you’ll be sorted.

Step 9: When the installation is complete, click Finish.

That's it! The software has now been installed.

🎫 Grab your licence

I don't have an EPLAN ID yet

Step 1: Visit the EPLAN page on Academic Software.

Step 2: Click the Start procedure button to begin the activation process for EPLAN.

Step 3: Enter your email address and click Continue.

Step 4: Click Confirm in the confirmation email you will receive.

Step 5: Set your password and click Continue.

Step 6: Complete your profile and click Create Eplan ID.

Enter your personal details, address, educational information (the name of your institution, course of study and student ID), and the software language and version that you wish to use.
Tick the boxes to accept the privacy policy and agree to the terms of use for EPLAN Cloud.

Step 7: You are now logged into your EPLAN account. Click your initials in the top-right corner and select Downloads.

Step 8: Select the "Entitlement IDs" tab to view your licence details.

Heads-up! No need to chase it—your Entitlement ID will show up there once everything’s sorted. It might take a few working days, so hang tight.

Step 9: Use the copy icon next to your Entitlement ID to copy it.

Step 10: Start EPLAN Education.

Step 11: In the pop-up window, select With an online activation and confirm by clicking OK.

Step 12: Paste the copied Entitlement ID in the "Activate license online" dialogue box, then click Activate and click Activate again.

Step 13: Click Close to complete the activation process.

Your licence is good to go!

I already have an EPLAN ID, but no licence

Step 1: Visit the EPLAN page on Academic Software.

Step 2: Click the Start procedure button to begin the activation process for EPLAN.

Step 3: Click Download Eplan Education with existing Eplan ID.

Step 4: Enter the email address associated with your EPLAN account and click Continue.

Step 5: Click Sign in in the confirmation email you will receive.

Step 6: Enter your password and click Continue.

Step 7: Complete your profile details and click Continue to Download.

Enter your personal details, address, educational information (the name of your institution, course of study and student ID), and the software language and version that you wish to use.

Heads-up! Your Entitlement ID knows where to go—it’ll show up in that tab once things are processed. Might take a few working days, so no need to panic.

Step 10: Use the copy icon next to your Entitlement ID to copy it.

Step 11: Start EPLAN Education.

Step 12: In the pop-up window, select With an online activation and confirm by clicking OK.

Step 13: Paste the copied Entitlement ID in the "Activate license online" dialogue box, then click Activate and click Activate again.

Step 14: Click Close to complete the activation process.

Your licence is now activated. Welcome to the world of EPLAN!

I want to renew my licence

Step 1: Go to the 🔗 EPLAN website.

Step 2: In the top-right corner, click Sign in to log in using your existing EPLAN account.

Step 3: Enter your email address and password, then click Sign in.

Step 4: Click your initials in the top-right corner and select Downloads.

Step 5: Click the "Request License" tab in the menu on the left, select your desired EPLAN Education product and click Request license.

Step 6: Following a successful request, a confirmation pop-up will appear. To view the new Entitlement ID, navigate to the "Entitlement IDs" tab in the menu on the left.
