Step 1: Follow the attached manuals (Driver Nvidia grapichs cards configuration and Microsoft Word - Bsolid - firewall uitschakelen windows (academicsoftware.eu). Make sure the settings are correct. This is important to avoid receiving error messages. If you have another antivirus, it should also be completely disabled, along with the firewall of the antivirus.
Step 2: Install Bsolid from Academic Software.
Note: During the installation, the option 'Install on this machine' should not be checked. Do not open Bsolid yet after installation.
Step 3: Open the extracted file, make sure Bsolid is not running and run the backup again (this time you should no longer get the error message if your Nvidia card and antivirus settings are correct).
Check the option 'Delete all the pre-existing machine models'.
Note: If it's a Windows 11 (only for windows 11 pc) computer and, after you did the backup, you still get the error message even when the settings of the firewall and antivirus are correct (see step 2), you can try to install the patch for windows 11 that is included in the folder.
Step 4: Click on 'Request access'.
Step 5: If you get a notification that you are using a demo version, make sure to restart the application, check your connection and make sure you IP address is whitelisted.
The whitelisting is valid for 30 minutes. make sure to go back to Academic Software, refresh the page and click the whitelist button again if you want to continue working.
Sentinel keys:
- Open a browser and go to the following web page: http://localhost:1947/
- The 'Sentinel Admin control Center' will open
- Go to the 'Configuration' tab and click on 'Access to Remote License Managers'
- Type bsolidproxy1.academicsoftware.eu in the 'Remote Licenses Search Parameters' field
- Click on 'Submit'
- Now your pc will recognize the license when you try to open Bsolid. (You can check this on the 'Sentinel Keys' tab
Step 6: Now Bsolid should be able to start and you can continue working with the software.
What to do when you receive errors?
Step 1: Uninstall Bsolid with the attached tool (Revo). Install the tool, search for Bsolid/Bsuite and remove everything, including the remaining files.
